Amazon Relay 101 training and the Relay Learning Center

Every new Relay carrier is pointed to Relay 101 first. Here's where to find it, what the Learning Center covers, which courses Amazon requires, and how to assign them to your drivers.

Short answer

Relay 101 is a short course in Relay's Learning Center, about 10 minutes, and Amazon's FAQ lists it as the first step after approval. The Learning Center is a free library of self-paced courses inside your Relay account.

What is the Amazon Relay Learning Center?

It's Relay's built-in training library. Amazon's Learning Center post calls it "a free library of digital courses on safety, maintenance, and compliance." It adds: "All courses are self-paced, so you can learn on your schedule."

You reach it from inside Relay once you're approved, and Amazon doesn't publish a public link to it. For the two hostling courses, Amazon's hostler post says "you'll need to be an approved Relay carrier to access these courses."

Where do you find Relay 101?

Inside your Relay account, after you're approved. Amazon's Relay FAQ says you'll get an email with instructions to access your account. Once logged in, the first step it lists is: "Complete the Relay 101 course in Relay's Learning Center (about 10 minutes)."

Then you add your drivers and equipment and start booking. If you're still waiting on approval, our guide to Amazon Relay approval time covers the timeline.

What courses are in the Learning Center?

Amazon groups them into collections:

You also get RelayCon keynotes. Amazon's secure freight page mentions free courses "incorporating best practices from the Transported Asset Protection Association," and its geospoofing post says Relay offers security tips in the Learning Center too.

Are there answers to the Amazon Relay 101 training?

Not from us, and not from Amazon. Amazon publishes no test questions or pass mark. Relay 101 takes about 10 minutes, and the point is to learn how Relay runs before your first load. A shortcut skips exactly what your drivers will face at the gate and in the app.

Which Learning Center courses does Amazon require?

Amazon's Relay home page says: "Once your application is approved and you complete a few digital courses in Relay's Learning Center, you'll immediately be able to book loads from our load board." It doesn't name those courses. The FAQ lists Relay 101 as the first step after approval, without using the word "required."

Three cases are spelled out on Amazon's public pages:

  1. Contracts. Amazon's carriers set the pace post says contracts are available to carriers that meet asset count requirements "and complete a short virtual course." Its more than a load board post says trailer-required contracts mean you "take the contracts course in the Relay Learning Center."
  2. Hostling and shuttle work. The hostler post requires "Completion of two digital courses in the Relay Learning Center," one on hostling services for Amazon and one on Relay auctions.
  3. Intermodal. Amazon's intermodal post says it requires approved carriers "to take our online intermodal safety courses before booking drayage loads."

How do you assign courses to your drivers?

From your carrier account. Amazon says you can "assign specific courses or collections to drivers on your roster." There are tools to "bulk assign and calendar view courses" and to "set completion dates."

It doubles as paperwork. Amazon says "you can also keep these records for compliance and safety documentation."

A good habit: assign the driver 101 collection before a new driver's first load. It covers the app and the selfie checks they'll see. Our Relay app guide covers the app side.

Can the Learning Center help your scorecard?

Amazon says carriers who use these resources "may see progress in their Relay performance scores." It promises no more than that. The performance score collection is the one aimed at it. Our scorecard guide explains each metric.

If a hit lands that you think is wrong, a course won't undo it. Our free Relay dispute letter tool lets you tick what's true and copy a letter to submit for a late arrival or app usage hit. Amazon decides.

What doesn't Amazon publish about the Learning Center?

Where does NudoIQ fit?

NudoIQ has nothing to do with Relay's courses. It's an independent Chrome extension for the Relay load board, not affiliated with Amazon, that shows net and net per mile under the price on every load card and drafts scorecard dispute letters you check and submit. It's free for 7 days with no card needed to start, then $49.99 a month.
